1. Commitment to User Privacy

BrickFinder ("we", "our", or "the platform") provides free visual LEGO piece identification tools and reference catalogs. We believe in minimal data collection and total operational transparency. We do not require account creation, personal sign-ups, or credit card information to use our identification tools.

2. Photo & Camera Image Processing

When you upload a photo or capture an image via webcam to identify a LEGO brick, here is exactly how your image is handled:

  • Ephemeral Server Inference: Your image is transmitted over secure TLS/HTTPS encryption to our AI vision processing endpoint strictly for real-time feature extraction.
  • No Long-Term Storage: User images are processed transiently in memory and are NEVER stored on permanent disk drives, public web servers, or image repositories.
  • No Sale or Distribution: Uploaded images are never sold, rented, or shared with third-party advertisers or data brokers.

3. Third-Party AI Services

Our identification pipeline utilizes Google Gemini vision API endpoints to evaluate 3D geometry and stud matrices. Image data sent to AI model inference endpoints is governed by enterprise privacy controls, guaranteeing that submitted photo payloads are not retained for model re-training or public dataset inclusion.

4. Browser Local Storage & Cookies

We use standard browser localStorage strictly to save non-sensitive user preferences (such as recently viewed parts, dark/light theme state, and tool options). This data remains 100% on your device and can be cleared at any time via your browser settings.

5. Advertising & Analytics Disclosures

To support free website hosting, BrickFinder may display advertising (such as Google AdSense) or use privacy-friendly web analytics. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
